One little leaf at a time
The persistence of leafcutter ants shows the power of progressing little by little towards big goals, like bible memorisation.

I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you
Psalm 119:11
Psalm 119:11
Little by little, one at a time, an army of leafcutter ants bites off millions of leaf pieces and carries them back to their nest. To us the leaves look small, but each one can weigh fifty times as much as the ant carrying it. That is like you or I carrying a car on our backs!
Over time, the tiny leaf pieces build up to a huge pantry store in the ants' underground nest. Deep in the earth, the leaves break down into compost - the perfect soil for the ants to grow their favourite food - fungus!
The small things that we do in our lives work in just the same way. We don’t gather leaves, but we do gather wisdom piece by piece.
